1. How can the intellectual property protect the rights of investors, scientists and artists?

Logos or trademarks, together with copyright and related rights, geographic indications, industrial designs, patents, and layout-designs are just some of the things that consist “intellectual property rights” included in the Republic Act No. 8293—a law protecting artists, scientists, inventors, and entrepreneurs with the work you produce.


2. What acts are considered as a violations of Intellectual Property Code?

Crafting original work, such as a piece of writing, music or physical art, is entitled to copyright on that creation. By law, a copyright is a kind of security given to the authors of original works. When you've successfully fashioned something creative, be it a manuscript , a song or a painting, you're entitled to file a copyright for your material. A copyright is a legal term which assigns exclusive rights to the maker of the original content.


3. What agencies are in charge of implementing the Intellectual Property Code?

The agency of the government in charge of the implementation of the intellectual property code is the intellectual property office whichreplace the Bureau of Patents, Trademarks, and Technology Transfer. It is divided into 6 Bureaus, namely:
  1.  Bureau of Patents
  2. Bureau of Trademarks
  3. Bureau of Legal Affairs
  4. Documentation, Information and Techonology Bureau
  5. Management Information System and EDP Bureau
  6. Administrative, Financial and Personnel Services Bureau
